The Virginia Wesleyan Marlins took on the Yellow Jackets of Randolph-Macon College to see who would lead the ODAC.
The Marlins took the tip-off with a strong five minute start 20-12 lead. As the first half progressed the Yellow Jackets started take control of the game. They changed their defense strategy, and they turned on the pressure. They would end the first half up by 10 points over the Marlins.
The Marlins came out to stronger in the second half. They picked the pace back up, and they cut the lead to be just withing six points of Randolph-Macon. The Marlins continued the face paced play and tied the game at 48. Wesleyan would take a small lead 2:06 remaining. The lead didn’t last long, and oth teams traded points sporadically.The yellow jackets had the ball with just under a minute left in the contenst and took a two point lead. the ball up the court and made a corner 3 point field goal to take the lead by 2. Wesleyan couldn’t capitalize for the reaminder of the game. The Yellow Jackets would win 69-66.
Khory Moore led the Marlins offense with 19 points and five rebounds.
The Marlins will return to the Fish Tank Jan. 24 to take on Lynchburg College.
