The Marlins started their weekend with a conference matchup against Washington and Lee Generals.
The Generals showed that they came to play, and they seemed to nearly match every point that Virginia Wesleyan put up. Yet the Generals couldn’t grab a hold of a lead. Tensions ran high as the clock ran down, and fouls kept occurring.
The second half was quite the opposite. The Marlins showed their skill and dominance. Almost every Marlin on the court was putting points on the board, and they had no intentions on stopping.
Cameron Owens led the team with 14 points, and Khory Moore and Breven Lyons followed him with 13 points. The Marlins defeated the Generals 73-60.
The Marlins play again at Shenandoah on Jan. 14. Tip-off is at 7 p.m.
