By Kellie Lagoy

Virginia Wesleyan faced off against conference opponent the Shenandoah University Hornets.

The Marlins and Hornets were neck and neck for much of the game, but halfway through the second half that changed. The Marlins kicked it in to high gear. Khory Moore and Cameron Owens led the way with 15 points apiece.

Virginia Wesleyan had two other players post double digit scores. Greg Montgomery and Brevon Lyons both sunk 11 points against the Hornets. The Marlins squad has been consistent, and they are now 12-2 overall.

They are 4-1 in the ODAC with their only loss coming from Randolph-Macon.

The Marlins will be back in the fish tank on Jan. 17 at 4:30 p.m. against conference opponents, Emory & Henry.
